In October 2018, Whiteman Area Leadership
Council (WALC) President Jim Smith, along with WALC Directors Greg Frencken,
Joe Scallorns, and Harold Stewart attended a community visit to the Pentagon. Missouri Military
Advocate Joe Driskill attended as well
The group had productive meetings with several Senior Leaders of the Air Force,
including U.S. Air Force Secretary Heather Wilson. The group discussed
current issues important to the Air Force and important to Whiteman AFB as well
as future opportunities and challenges.
WALC’s main accomplishment in the visit was to
assure the Air Force of the organization’s deep desire to do anything and
everything to support Whiteman Air Force Base and the Air Force overall.
